Job overview
We are looking for 2 permanent full-time positions for the Sleep Diagnostic Coordinator role at Worthing and St Richards Hospital. The post holder will play a key role in the smooth running of the sleep clinic, dispensing CPAP consumables, setting up packs, downloading home sleep study equipment, and maintaining diagnostic equipment, including ordering and keeping the smooth running of the administration in support of the Specialty Coordinator.

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and the medical staff. Previous administration, client/patient-facing experience, and excellent audio typing skills are essential. Our ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable and willing to work as part of our busy but supportive team.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Take an active role in Risk Management in line with Trust and Directorate policy.
2. Interact closely with medical and other nursing staff to provide a high-quality Sleep Service dedicated to patient care.
3. Accurately prepare sleep study recording equipment according to standard operating procedure.
4. Download domiciliary sleep study equipment following return from patient, perform a data quality check, and decontaminate equipment after use.
5. Dispense CPAP consumables to the patients when required.
6. Undertake routine admin duties including but not limited to booking follow-up appointments, scanning documents, and answering the telephone.
7. Take joint responsibility for stock control.
8. Demonstrate an awareness of the economical use of resources and contribute to the overall control of the departmental budget.
9. Participate in stock taking and recording of stock levels of consumables used in the sleep laboratory.
10. Typing of various clinical letters as appropriate within the specialty and other correspondence from audio dictation using Word.

Experience/Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in maths and English or equivalent experience or understanding of a range of routine work procedures.
* Experience of working within a client/patient-facing role.
* GCSE in a science/carrying out audits.
* Experience of maintaining accurate record keeping within the clinical setting.
Skills
* Able to build good working relations within the Multidisciplinary team.
* Evidence of understanding of the importance of clear planning of workload.
* Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
* Excellent communication skills; good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Ability to participate in research activities as requested.
* Understanding of personal duty of care for stock and equipment.
* Previous secretarial experience in acute/healthcare setting.
* Understanding/experience of medical terminology.
