Overview
The Training Site Manager will oversee the daily operations of a training facility, ensuring the site runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves managing staff, ensuring adherence to health and safety (H&S), quality, and compliance standards, and maintaining the site and equipment. The manager will be responsible for delivering training, updating risk assessments, and ensuring plant and equipment are available and in service for course requirements. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and experienced in managing training environments, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Staff Management:
* Directly manage and supervise training staff, including trainers and sub-contractor personnel.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and ensure ongoing staff development and training.
* Address staff performance issues and foster a positive, productive working environment.
* Ensure staff adhere to training schedules, quality standards, and organisational policies.
Health, Safety, Quality, and Compliance:
* Ensure all staff and learners are adhering to H&S legislation, with regular checks to ensure compliance.
* Create and update risk assessments and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments, ensuring they reflect current conditions and legislative changes.
* Ensure that all training activities are conducted within a safe, compliant environment.
* Liaise with visitors and management as required to maintain and promote safety and compliance standards.
Site and Equipment Maintenance:
* Oversee the availability and functionality of plant and equipment required for training courses, ensuring they meet course requirements.
* Liaise with staff and fitters to ensure that plant and equipment are regularly serviced and maintained in good working order.
* Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the site, ensuring it is safe for all personnel and trainees.
* Ensure that training resources, materials, and equipment are available, well-maintained, and checked regularly.
Training Delivery and Testing:
* Manage the effective delivery of training programmes, ensuring high standards of instruction and engagement for all participants.
* Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programmes, adjusting content or delivery methods as needed to improve outcomes.
* Oversee the development, administration, and analysis of testing and evaluations to measure training progress and participant performance.
* Work with trainers to ensure that testing processes are clear, fair, and consistent, and that results are properly documented and analysed.
Performance Monitoring and Compliance:
* Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of training programmes, ensuring they meet both organisational and industry standards.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions where required.
* Ensure training records, reports, and performance metrics are accurately maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Liaising and Communication:
* Liaise with visitors, clients, and management as needed to ensure smooth site operations and meet course requirements.
* Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding site operations, training delivery, and safety matters.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in training site management or similar roles.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality, and compliance regulations, particularly in training or workplace settings.
* Experience in creating and updating risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
* Ability to manage plant and equipment availability and liaise with fitters for maintenance and servicing.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Knowledge of training methodologies and testing processes.
* Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills for maintaining equipment.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in health & safety, training delivery, or management (preferred).

* Learner satisfaction and engagement levels.
* Successful learner achievement rates (e.g., completion of qualifications).
* Adherence to compliance standards and internal policies.
* Effective collaboration with the wider training team and external stakeholders.
* Timely and accurate completion of administrative duties related to learner progress and assessments.
Any additional information:
* Must have a full driving licence.
* Occasional travel may be required for training or site inspections.
* The position may involve occasional evening or weekend work, depending on training schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
