Job summary Health Care Assistant - Band 3 Full time / part time hours, permanent role Please note: Unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorships for this position. Shirley house is a respite service for adults, as a Health care assistant you will support in the delivery of quality personalised care showing compassion, respect and interest in the service users. You will beProviding holistic care for service users (SU) who have a Learning Disability and/or complex health needs, for example uncontrolled epilepsy, life limiting conditions, dual diagnosis, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other conditions and syndromes that require specific clinical interventions. You will also be involved in our new service, the enhanced support service providing support to adults who are in complex situations and are at high risk of inappropriate admission to hospital. Main duties of the job Be Key worker for named individuals and assist in the development of care plans and risk assessments and attend meetings as required under the supervision or direction from senior staff. Complete electronic Nursing Notes, paper records and any mandatory charts relevant to the individual. Will be required to support SU into community activities, with and without direct supervision. Contribute to high quality of care within the service, at the SU home and within the community. Must demonstrate a positive attitude when working alongside people with a learning disability and Autism, showing a commitment to support with a personalised approach ensuring the best quality of experiences and life. Support with personal care, promoting independence when possible, respecting dignity and individualisation. The post is multi role; therefore, all aspects of duties are required to be carried out eg, domestic cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping and gardening. encouraging SU involvement. occasions to be shift leader where appropriate, supervise staff to ensure care and safety of clients (this can be over a 24-hour period) and includes overall responsibility of the unit and key holding.
