What skills and experience we're looking for
The Cowplain School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of Geography. All KS3 students receive lessons in Geography and it is also a popular subject at KS4 as all students continue with Geography or History up to GCSE. Due to this, we require a 4th person to join our team of Geography teachers. Geography is taught in modern and well-equipped classrooms and the Geography department organises a number of trips and students talk highly of the subject.
We are extremely ambitious for our 1000 students and have a strong vision to ensure that the life-chances of every young person are enhanced by quality teaching, leading to excellent outcomes. Having secured our third ‘Good’ OFSTED in March 2024, we are now looking for staff who can continue the drive to excellence. Therefore, it is vital that you have the skills to form effective relationships with students, parents and colleagues and have the passion and drive to ensure our students receive the best possible learning opportunities.
What the school offers its staff
As a teacher at Cowplain we would invest in you to ensure that you develop the skills and expertise needed to ensure those that you teach acquire the positive attitudes, knowledge and understanding vital to their future. We offer all members of staff a full induction programme and significant opportunities to develop their expertise. Colleagues at the school work together to support each other and we have an active wellbeing committee.
