This role:
Our financial controller will oversee the Group’s financial performance and accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic financial insight to support business growth. This role will act as a key partner to stakeholders across the Group, driving efficiency and delivering accurate financial information to inform decision making.
What you will do:
1. Oversee all company accounts, investments, and financial operations
2. Deliver accurate and timely monthly and annual reports including budgets, financial forecasts and variance analysis
3. Familiarity with manufacturing accounting such as long term commercial contracts and accounting for raw materials, work in progress and finished goods inventory.
4. Manage cash flow and maintain robust financial controls
5. Ensure all financial records comply with UK regulations
6. Lead, develop and motivate the finance team, ensuring clear roles and objectives
7. Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic decision making and business objectives
8. Collaborate with senior leaders and head of department to align financial planning
9. Review and enhance accounting systems, including invoicing and reporting processes
10. Drive automation and innovation within financial processes
11. Maintain and review insurance and other business contracts
12. Manage payroll processing ensuring compliance and timely reporting including year-end
What we are looking for:
1. Proven experience in senior finance roles, ideally within a multi entity group structure
2. Strong leadership and team management skills
3. Advanced analytical and problem solving capabilities
4. High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
5. Commercial awareness and the ability to connect financial data to business strategy.
6. Results orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
8. Adaptable and capable of managing change in a dynamic environment
9. Advanced Excel / Power BI Skills
10. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
Nice to have:
1. Experience managing financial operations in scale up or growth environment
2. Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions or restructuring processes
