The role of the Mortgage Team Manager is to coach, motivate and develop a team of Mortgage Advisers providing regulated advice relating to mortgage products and protection needs to customers in a highly regulated and complex environment. They will be accountable for the teams’ compliance, and professional standards, providing technical expertise and regulatory supervision. A Mortgage Team Manager will effectively demonstrate character, experience, and humility to create trust and influence. Your role will be to help others to become all that they can be. To be accountable for the creation and delivery of a robust infrastructure that governs financial and risk management, minimises cost and protects the HSBC brand whilst delivering against performance expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Support the Head of Advised Mortgages to deliver the WPB mortgage and protection plan.
• Direct and visual leadership through continued engagement to ensure consistent delivery and alignment to strategy contributing to the successful delivery of ‘Best in Class’ standards.
• Drive and communicate operational change to ensure costs are contained, income is generated and operational risk is minimised.
• Understand and deploy numerous levels of Business Intelligent Data to translate into collective business performance that delivers maximum sustainable contribution.

• Engage with key stakeholders across the business in an effort to maximise the performance and results within the regulated mortgage environment.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Essential: The minimum qualification requirement is the equivalent of a level 3 QCF qualification in regulated mortgage advice – typically CF1 and CF6. If the R05 is not held then this qualification must be achieved within 12 months of starting in role. Funding support for this part of the qualification will be provided.
• Essential: Relevant leadership experience in leading large teams in financial services.
• Ability to plan development activities and gain commitment to change.
• The ability to use motivation and influencing skills across hybrid team and location structures.
• The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with both team members and stakeholders outside of team.
• Be a champion of change and innovation across all elements of the customer and people journey’s and demonstrate ownership and common sense in everything, sharing best practice across teams and peers.
• The ability to adapt style and language to the needs of the audience and situation and summarise effectively to engage the audience, checking understanding.
This role is London based with hybrid working that will require weekly travel into the office.
