We have a new permanent opportunity for a full-time Paralegal to join the Litigation Team in our Newbury office. Working as part of the Contentious Probate team, the ideal candidate will preferably have previous paralegal experience with a reputable law firm primarily working on matters relating to wills, trusts and inheritance disputes. The Role Your role in the Contentious Probate team will include the following tasks: Attending client meetings and providing day-to-day client liaison Preparing first draft letters and documents including for example: Letters to clients, solicitors and third parties Witness statements Instructions to counsel and experts Mediation Position Statements Settlement Agreements, etc Preparing for mediations (including assisting to draft documents, attending client meetings in advance and attending the mediation itself with the fee earner) Preparing for trials (including bundling, collating documents, sitting in on client meetings and conferences with counsel, attending trial remotely or in person) Progressing your own knowledge through webinars and training About you Preferably 2 years’ paralegal experience in contentious matters Educated to degree level with a strong academic record, you may also have completed your LPC Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail Strong organisational skills, including management of own online files and bundle docs Excellent written and verbal communications skills Proven team player with demonstrable ability to build effective and trusting relationships with clients and colleagues Previous experience in trials or mediation would be an advantage but is not a requirement.
