The Role : A manufacturing business supplying globally, based in East Yorkshire, is looking for a methodical and proactive Supply Chain & Production Administrator to join their team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone eager to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on supply chain processes, production planning, and quality control reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supply Chain, Production, and Sales teams to ensure efficient and accurate processing of orders and production jobs, while also supporting the administration of quality control through the NCR process. Key Activities/Elements 1. Supply Chain Administration Raise purchase orders for proprietary parts, including fasteners, stationery, and uniforms. Assign and input serial numbers on purchase orders and send to suppliers. Send other PO’s to suppliers where. Amend PO’s as : e.g. updating agreed pricing, adjusting parts or transferring items between orders while retaining traceability (serial numbers). Enter and maintain up-to-date exchange rates, shipping costs, and raw material prices in relevant databases or spreadsheets. Send out initial quotation requests for parts and components where. Maintain Business Central (BC) product details such as supplier information, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), lead times, and stocking indicators as released by the R&D team, ensuring accurate Netstock integration. Track new products from R&D release through to warehouse delivery: Monitor transition to “Stocked” status. Ensure timely updates to stocking indicators and MOQ’s. Communicate status and readiness to Sales and Marketing for website updates and launch. Identify and flag any discrepancies in Bills of Materials (BOMs) or engineering drawings to the R&D team, load corrective tasks, and follow up to ensure resolution. 2. Production Co-ordination Add new jobs to the production schedule as requested by the Sales team. Load and configure Assembly Orders in the system for all scheduled production jobs. Liaise with Sales and Warehouse to ensure accurate lead times and respond to updates or changes. Amend Production Schedule due to r eprioritis ation and reschedul ing of jobs as needed to accommodate production demands. Place weekly orders for profiled parts in production. Order components, where necessary, from UK suppliers to replenish stock and avoid shortages for production orders. 3. Non-Conformity Reporting (NCR) Administration Administer the raising of all NCR’s, ensuring they are completed in full and accurately. Liaise with relevant departments/personnel to gather any missing information for NCR’s. Track and ensure all outstanding NCR’s are completed within agreed timescales. Carry out KPI-based analysis of NCR’s and report findings to the Line Manager. Monitor NCR locations and returns to the 3PL, ensuring that they are cleared and that relevant systems are updated. Ensure all returned stock levels match across internal systems Other Elements / Tasks Develop effective working relationships across departments including Engineering, Sales, Stores, Warehouse, and Finance. Promote a collaborative team environment within the Supply Chain and Production functions. Support colleagues when needed, including covering for other team members in periods of absence.
