We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join us at Thames Water. You will be responsible for all commercial aspects of a sub-area of the Logistics Management Centre such as North East London Waste Networks. Offering commercial advice to the local operational team and assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in assessing more complex works/claims. Carrying out site measurements, estimating and producing month-end valuation documentation. Assessing payment applications up to £100K in value.
What you’ll be doing as a Quantity Surveyor
* Commercially responsible for up to £10 million spend.
* Ensure Thames Water meets all of its contractual, legal and commercial obligations.
* Engage with and advise professional service colleagues such as Senior Management Accountants and Operations Managers.
* Management responsibility for 2 FTE.
* Provide commercial advice to local operational teams.
* Safeguarding Thames Water against claims over £1 million per annum.
* Deliver efficiency savings to Thames Water of £1 million per annum.
Base locations can be flexible in Thames Valley and Home Counties areas. This is a hybrid role, with the role being office/site & home-based. You may be required to travel across our operational areas for on-site visits.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must have access to a car and hold a driver’s licence.
What you should bring to the role
* Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have your transport.
* Degree or similar in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience of commercial responsibility over £3 million.
* Experience in resolving claims over £200K.
* Experience engaging at the local management level.
* Site measurement experience.
* Working towards gaining Chartered status.
