Ensure user and business needs are at the heart of product development. Understand user and business needs, to generate the backlog of work and a road map of features prioritised based on value delivered to the business. Create effective, prioritised user stories and road map which meet user needs in a cost-effective way. Be responsible for understanding problems our users in accessing DBS services. Lead and support a multidisciplinary team who have the autonomy to own and solve problems. Support your team in building products/designing services using agile and digital technology to deliver the product which meets user needs, delivers on performance, availability and which enables the user to succeed first time. Drive consistency and quality. Contribute to the service design consistency across the user experience. Set measurable and valuable goals for the product and report against these to demonstrate progress against stated benefits, ensuring the product continues to iterate and develop post go live to remain responsive to user needs. Be instrumental in ensuring DBS teams and external stakeholders understand the purpose and value of Disclosure and Barring services. Be actively involved across partner and user communities to promote the departments principles and foster a collaborative approach to solution delivery and user engagement. You can apply these in a variety of ways to balance the needs of users, the business and technology. You can coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, determining the right approach for the team to take and evaluating this through delivery lifecycle. Strategic Thinking: Ability to define product vision, strategy and roadmap, ensuring it is aligned with business goals. You must be able to identify opportunities and risks, adjusting product direction accordingly. Leadership: Capable of leading cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, driving product development from conception to launch. User Focus: Deep understanding of user needs and the ability to translate those needs into product features. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and find creative solutions. Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate product vision. You have experience of working with and challenging internal and external stakeholders. Operational Management: Awareness of industry best practice and can cascade ways of working; making operations efficient; acting as the escalation point for major operational issues and championing operational management across the community. Desirable Criteria Qualifications: Recognised Product Manager certification or equivalent. Agile or Lean qualification. Knowledge: Have an understanding of the UK Governments technology standards, service standards and assurance for technology spending and delivery of digital services.
