77 Gloucester Road North is a 6-bed residential care home in Filton, which supports people with learning difficulties and physical needs.
We are looking to recruit a Support Worker who can offer a high standard of person-centred support and is able to work in a flexible manner, as part of a team.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
1. Encouraging positive self-image and maintaining health and wellbeing.
2. Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.
3. Supporting people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
4. Providing access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports clubs, social events, and creative endeavours.
Our friendly staff team helps the people we support to be as independent as possible and offers personal care as well as support with accessing the community.
The successful Support Worker will:
1. Have excellent communication skills.
2. Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature.
3. Ideally have some understanding of learning disabilities and autism and how this can impact on people’s lives and wellbeing; however, this is not a necessity, as full training and support will be given.
4. Be flexible with the shifts they are able to work, including early, late, occasional nights, and weekends.
