With an exceptional reputation both locally and nationally, Reigate College focuses on excellent teaching, learning and support to make it one of the best sixth form colleges in the country. The College is a great place to work and study, with an active, inclusive and supportive community ethos at the heart of everything it does.
The Post
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking teacher to join the Film and Media Department. The post is available from 26 August 2025 on a permanent, full-time basis. The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided.
All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little or no experience teaching A Level Media are still encouraged to apply, as the Department is able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.
The Department
The Department is housed in the Garden Building. The classrooms are fully equipped with interactive touchscreen displays, sound systems, white boards and PCs for all students. The Department also has access to their own studios in Castlefield House, which includes green screen facilities and filming locations.
The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Film, Media, Business, Animation and apprenticeships and jobs in the production fields. Each year, the Department celebrates student work at an awards event, in the style of an awards show.
The Department consists of six other teachers, who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. The Department is also supported by a Film and Media Technician. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.
Courses
The Department offers the following courses:
* BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Creative Digital Media Production
The successful candidate will teach on the A Level Media and Creative Digital Media Production courses.
The full-time salary for this post is up to £51,185 per annum.
The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
