Package: £37,860 – £50,000 plus generous workplace allowances (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Who are we looking for?
AWE Machine Tool Engineering (MTE) are responsible for performing a variety of Machine Tool lifecycle activities from assistance with installation, breakdown, maintenance, servicing, and error mapping in order to optimise plant and equipment availability.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in Machine Tool design on challenging bespoke projects across a range of facilities.
This will require a focussed and consistent approach working with and directing Capital projects, where the Machinery Directive and associated standards and legislative requirements will be applied in full.
Responsibilities:
1. Use a high degree of skill and high technical ability carry out a wide range of maintenance activities efficiently and in a timely manner on plant and equipment
2. Apply a range of technical fault-finding skills within own discipline. Gather plant data and analysis result, using a range of techniques
3. Implement modifications as directed by Task Manager
4. Inspect and endorse the quality of own work to ensure it meets the required specification.
5. Apply mentoring skills to less experienced craft team members and apprentices
6. Ensure the understanding and application of responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
Essential skills:
1. Diagnostics and rectification of machine tool control and servo system faults.
2. Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written.
3. Computer literate, to enable writing of specifications / test schedules / reports.
4. Ability to mentor others
5. A proven competence with regard to machine tool installations, with experience in the disassembly/assembly of complex precision mechanical assemblies and geometric alignment.
6. A solid understanding of machine tool maintenance, modification, and service delivery.
7. Advanced abilities in fault-finding on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
8. Underlying knowledge of PLC programming and incorporated Machine Tool technologies.
You will need the following:
1. Minimum ONC / HNC or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering subject.
2. Appropriate Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience of Machine Tool Engineering.
3. Relevant experience of machine functionality and safety.
4. AWE facility access training and AWE mandatory training will need to be undertaken.

Important things you need to know:
1. You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
