Job Role: Senior / Estimator
Location: Leeds
Salary: £50,000 - 80,000 D.O.E & Level.
Navartis is working with a specialist Rail & infrastructure business who has an excellent opportunity for an experienced (Senior) Estimator to join the business in what is a brand new role for them.
This individual will work in tandem with the Directors to qualify tendors and bids ensuring the continued growth of the business. With the company being less than 20years old but fast becoming a trusted partner in the industry the right candidate will be well placed to build an estimating team and be promoted fast.
The key requirements for this Senior Estimator role are:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare and present detailed cost estimates for rail and civil projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Tender Management: Assist in the preparation of tenders and bid submissions, ensuring all relevant information is included, accurate, and competitive.
- Project Assessment: Analyse project blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to determine accurate material and labour costs.
- Site Surveys: Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate site conditions, material availability, and potential risks.
- Risk Assessment: Identify project risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and incorporate them into cost estimates.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure the timely procurement of materials and services.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor ongoing project costs and provide regular updates on cost performance.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed cost reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Experience required for this Senior Estimator role are:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the rail and civil construction industry.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of rail and civil infrastructure, construction processes, and cost estimation methods.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Desirable knowledge, skills & experience for this Senior Estimator role are:
- Extensive experience in the rail industry. Working with infrastructure and depot projcets.
- Previous experience working with main client and tier one contractors.
- Previous experience working as or alongside Quantity Surveyors
- A degree in a relevant Civil Engineering or Rail discipline.
Working Hours 40hours a week. Flexible as required.
