This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Quality Team in Informatics Merseyside as a Information Facilitator. The Data Quality team supports GP practices across Liverpool in improving the use of the clinical systems and assisting with general data quality and the uptake and delivery of Informatics programmes.
We are looking for candidates withsignificant experience of working in GP practices.You should have a high level of knowledge and experience in working with GP clinical systems, clinical coding and general informatics support in a GP practice setting.
Your role will also be to facilitate Digital Optimisation in General Practices, implementing and supporting digital projects, optimising the use of clinical and IT systems and optimising GP practice digital systems and processes.
Recruiting for one permanent role and one 12 month fixed term contract role.
This role will be based in practices in the Liverpool area.

Duties include:
• Extensive use of GP IT clinical systems
• Work closely with the Practices to help them develop their IT systems, to move away from paper records and use the computer system to record clinical data to support improvement in the quality or care.
• Implementing and influencing use of protocols, policies and procedures as produced by Liverpool Place.
• Persuade and influence reluctant GPs and practice staff to make better use of their clinical system.

• Optimise GP Practices use of existing/new digital processes and systems
• Signpost GP practices to new technologies, new GP processes and new systems

• To support the development of the use of information to improve patient care by:
• Entering complex, clinical data onto the practice clinical computer system, including medical histories, and entering health promotion and chronic disease management details.
• Supporting practices in the development and maintenance of chronic disease registers.
• Enter clinical information from patient notes adhering to relevant protocols and policies and to data confidentiality.
• To ensure accuracy and to maintain concentration over prolonged periods of time.
• To assist the practices towards becoming paper lite – developing this process through effective change management
• To pro-actively develop, devise and implement policies/ protocols procedures in line with paper lite processes.
• To work autonomously and refer to Information Co-ordinator as necessary.
• To communicate effectively at all levels with Liverpool Place/Sefton Place and multidisciplinary Primary Health Care Teams and to foster and promote effective lines of communication within GP practices.
• To help to implement Snomed / clinical terms formularies and templates into practice systems, customising where appropriate.
• To retrieve, analyse, validate and audit clinic data within the practice.
• To report on results of audits, quality of data and training needs of the practice.
• To identify, report, facilitate IM&T training to multidisciplinary Primary Health Care Teams in practice, at in house practice forums in conjunction with the Information Co-ordinator and to act as a mentor to new team members.
• To work in consultation with the Information Co-ordinator to ensure that aims of the improving clinical use project are being delivered effectively and to help develop better information processes to improve quality of patient care.
• Act as a resource for other practices promoting the use of clinical systems.
• It is essential that the post holder has the experience to deal with the conflicting demands on their time and are able to manage complex work arrangements.
• The strict confidentiality of all information to which the post holder has access must be maintained at all times and role will involve exposure to potentially disturbing or sensitive case notes.
• To participate in an approved development course and to attend all mandatory training in line with Liverpool Place/Sefton Place requirements.
• Ensure careful use of practice equipment and their facilities.
