We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our engaging team in Derby as a Manufacturing Engineer – Technology.
You will be delivering manufacturing technology and/or capability acquisition projects. Working with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders (MECLs) or the equivalent, and Manufacturing Process Owners (MPOs) to ensure that technology solutions are aligned to existing strategies.
What you will be doing:
* Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.
* Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design definition and responsible for mitigating against process deviation.
* Operate a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time.
* Identify and develop opportunities for improvements and innovations in manufacturing capability.
* Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders.
* Support the development of the technology roadmaps and process strategies.
* Create, Maintain and/or Govern elements of the Technical Package which clearly define the manufacturing process.
* Lead small IPTs and/or work closely with external bodies to deliver projects.
* Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work with interfacing teams, Global Process Owners and local experts.
* Responsible for self development to meet the required competencies for the role.
* Build external relationships - Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers.
* Where required, support business capital projects to support capacity, business continuity and infrastructure improvements.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Manufacturing engineer with a strong work ethic. The candidate should strive for the highest quality and standardisation and be able to analyse manufacturing and process data in order to inform decisions and make recommendations.
* Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent, higher degree preferred).
* UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent relevant to specialist subject area.
* Typically a member of relevant professional body/institute at Fellow level (or equivalent).
* General machining experience and proven ability to influence key decisions.
* A good understanding of a range of inspection methods and experience assessing the capability of manufacturing processes.
* Understanding of Intellectual Property and Export Control requirements.
