The Company
Our client is a market leading manufacturing company due to a sustained period of growth they are now looking to recruit a Project Engineer.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating the specification, design and installation of projects ensuring they operate within the production plan and are completed within the schedule and allocated budget.
Controlling and reporting on projects from concept to commissioning, against agreed plan and cost, ensuring projects meet objectives set.
Liaising with manufacturing to make sure that projects comply with the requirements of production and safety standards.
Will play a key role in the identifying process improvements and be a resource to develop quality, machine efficiency and safety levels.
Assess suitability of potential sub-contractors.
Creating engineering drawings to support project and general engineering work.
Advising the purchasing department on spares requirements.
Coordinate a wide range of projects, including mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, making sure site is suitable for available service and is installed to technical and safety standards.
Evaluation, appointment and control of sub-contractors covering a wide range of engineering disciplines ensuring they are safe and legal at all times and that works and tasks are undertaken and completed to a high standard.
The Person
HNC or degree level in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Project engineering experience.
A background in design office work and capital projects.
Good communication skills.
Ability to prepare and present proposals for capital projects with cost justifications and to report progress on projects.
Proficient in general engineering design and to be capable in producing and understanding a wide range of engineering drawings.
