Job Description
Aramark is currently recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join our team in Leeds. This is a full-time, permanent position and is based in our Leeds Office (Horsforth).
The Tax Team currently comprises a Tax Manager and a Tax Assistant and is managed by the Tax Director.
The primary responsibility of the role will be to support the Tax Managers in managing compliance across various taxes in the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities:
* Prepare and review various tax returns across the UK and Ireland including corporation tax, VAT, CIS, and PSA
* Support on the monthly tax reporting and accounting tasks including the preparation of monthly accruals relating to corporation tax, VAT, and the PSA
* Providing VAT guidance to the business in response to queries raised and supporting Tax Managers with VAT-related projects
* Working with the tax assistant to undertake monthly reviews of fixed asset additions for capital allowance purposes
* Supporting tax compliance and advice in relation to countries outside of the UK and Ireland as required
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
* Advising the business on changes in tax legislation across the UK and Ireland
* Supporting the Tax Director with projects as they arise including M&A and restructuring transactions
* Providing training to other areas of the business to educate them on VAT legislation.
* Training and supporting the Tax Assistant
* Liaise with external advisors where applicable
Key requirements:
* Professional accountancy or tax qualifications (ACCA, CTA, etc.)
* Experience of UK VAT and corporation tax. Experience of Irish VAT and corporation tax would be beneficial, but not essential
* Experience of tax and accountancy software and systems would be beneficial, but not essential (e.g., Alphatax, OneSource, Oracle)
* Experience of other areas of tax would be beneficial, but not essential
* Highly motivated and confident to work well as part of a talented team
* Possess a strong desire to achieve operational excellence and drive continuous improvement
* Able to prioritise/organise workload and keep to deadlines
* A good level of IT skills and literacy, especially Excel
