Job Description
The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a strong passion for sales.
Promotes and sells consumables and instruments via phone, email and social selling platforms to customers and prospects that will be determined by management. Utilizes a combination of selling techniques and tools to achieve goals. Is organized, a self-starter, comfortable using telephone selling skills to build customer rapport and develop consultative sales relationships. Works independently and within a team environment, maintains administrative duties, and documents all activities in the CRM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales
1. Meet or exceed established targets
2. Prospect for new business within target market segments
3. Maintain a comprehensive record of sales actions within CRM system
4. Create quotations and pricing agreements, following pricing guidelines
5. Participate in required and recommended training sessions to obtain and maintain product knowledge
6. Maintain KPIs
7. Work cross-functionally to ensure full customer service and improve value selling opportunities
Support
1. Follow up with in-house support on all customer inquiries regarding complaints and application questions
2. Ensure timely and effective resolution to all queries
General
1. Able to conduct effective online demos
2. Utilize all aspects of the CRM software system
3. Responsible for attaining and maintaining technical knowledge to support customers
4. Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
1. Degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
1. Previous outbound phone sales experience with defined sales targets
2. Minimum 2 years' sales / inside sales experience in related industry preferred
3. Experience working in a life science lab preferred
Skills or Knowledge
1. Computer proficiency required
2. CRM fluent for daily usage plus feeding and maintenance
3. Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
4. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to write business correspondence and reports
6. Confident, persuasive and winning phone presence
7. Ability to calculate figures and amounts including discounts, percentages, and volume
8. Strong organizational skills
9. Comprehensive selling skills and techniques (including negotiation)
10. Ability to work independently, essential
Other
1. Fluent in business English and French.
2. A valid driver's license and access to own vehicle required
3. Up to 10% overnight travel potential
4. Regular attendance and punctuality
5. Ability to work well with others
6. Ability to acquire new skills and to accommodate change in the workplace
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in selling capital equipment
2. Lab bench experience using pipettes
