A leading ground engineering contractor are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to strengthen their Health & Safety function in the South function. You will play a key role in developing a continuously improving structure with workforce Safety & Health at the forefront.
Reporting into the Regional Managing Director, you will be:
•Undertaking site HSE inspections on construction and rail projects.
•Providing direct assistance in the preparation, development, maintenance and implementation of the existing SHEQ management systems
•Conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times, leading by example, promoting a positive culture and give factual and correct advice or guidance to others
•Advising on all matters pertaining to the safety and well-being of all personnel on-site
•Supporting site based safety personnel in delivering their safety responsibilities
•Interpreting legislative requirements and incorporating into company processes, procedures and policies whilst effectively communicating the requirements to the senior management and workforce
•Suggesting, communicating and promoting initiatives for accident prevention
•Implementing the requirements of the Health and Safety Policies and Integrated Management System.
You will also have:
•Experience in this role while working for a ground engineering or civil engineering contractor (ESSENTIAL)
•NEBOSH Construction Certificate-qualified (ESSENTIAL)
•Formal Accident Investigation training
•Internal auditor for ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 (desirable)
•Good communication and leadership skills
