SEN Teaching Assistant – Rotherham
We are working directly with a school that is looking for a teaching assistant who has experience supporting children with SEND needs starting in September 2024. Are you a teaching assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with ASD & SEMH needs? If so, this job might be for you!
Academics Ltd are currently working with a client in the Rotherham area that is looking for a special educational needs assistant to support children between the ages of 11 - 16 years, ensuring all children reach their full potential through high standards of teaching and learning.
Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to work alongside the class teacher, helping them to meet the differing needs of the children in the classroom. A flexible approach to the role is vital as you will need to support the classroom as a whole, as well as providing support to students individually when needed. We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, as you will be the first point of call for children in your care and be expected to liaise with teaching staff and parents/guardians to ensure the individual needs of the pupils are being met.

Role Requirements:
1. A caring individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm.
2. Ability to work as part of a team, alongside teaching and support staff
3. Prior experience of working with children – experience of supporting children with SEN needs would be advantageous.
4. Willing to support a pupil with personal care where necessary.
5. Able to use their initiative to support learning.
Requirements:
1. DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
2. Eligibility to work in the UK.
3. Knowledge of the British curriculum
4. Experience supporting pupils with SEN
The suitable applicants must have experience or be willing to gain experience working with SEN pupils with complex needs.
