Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Children with Disabilities

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to join the Children with Disabilities Team in Solihull.
What will your responsibilities be?
The role involves supporting children up to the age of 18 who have learning disabilities, physical or sensory impairments, chronic conditions, or multiple disabilities. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, committed to making a significant impact in the lives of children and their families. As a Social Worker on the Children with Disabilities Team, you will screen and assess the needs of disabled children and young people. You will undertake Children and Families Assessments, Single Assessments, and complete reports on disabled children. Your responsibilities will include completing statutory visits, including those outside of county limits, and conducting Pre-Birth Assessments. You will complete Care Plans, some jointly with health colleagues and other multi-agency professionals, as well as CIN/CP plans and Court Statements. Additionally, you will manage a complex caseload under strict time-scales.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be eligible for this role, you must have Social Work England registration and be eligible to work in the UK. Additionally, you need to hold a full UK driving licence and possess post-qualified experience. A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work is also required. Looked after Children Team Social Workers need to understand and integrate into practice the key polices of the council in relation to social care with children and families, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.
