KA3 6EX Salary from £65,600 with 20% Bonus, Family Healthcare and Car Allowance Flexible Working Pattern Closing date: 17th October 2024 As responsible Manager for ScottishPower Renewables Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar PV, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant management of these technologies, consisting of over 2000MWs of installed Renewables generating plant valued in excess of £3bn located across 36 of ScottishPower Renewables operational locations in the UK and Ireland. In addition to asset integration of these new technologies currently in construction and the dynamic operational management of these assets once they move into the operational phase, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of medium and long term operational and asset management strategies. Strategies will include the implementation and ongoing management of Operational Management Systems to deliver annual business performance production and availability targets in a safe and sustainable manner whilst growing systems, capabilities and competence to incorporate the New Technology development pipeline which is forecast to grow to 2GW by 2030. Responsibilities Defining and implementing a New Technology Asset Management strategy which ensures operational, regulatory and legislative compliance whilst achieving business performance targets, you will be directly accountable for the operation of ScottishPower Renewables installed New Technology. Implementing annual Preventative and Corrective Maintenance strategies for these technologies, you will be responsible for direct management of all warranties and defect liability periods. Developing the required operational, organisational and competency strategies for ScottishPower Renewables management of New Technologies in order to increase the capabilities of the UK Operations & Maintenance team, you will support appropriate members of the Field Operations Team, Electrical Network Operations team and external contracted resource in order to deliver operational performance. Providing business critical, real-time decision making within a dynamic operating environment to ensure adherence with regulatory requirements whilst maximising commercial performance and minimising Health, Safety and Environmental risks, you will provide direct input into the ongoing development and management of applicable Operating Methodologies and Safety Rules which ensures work activities are performed in a safe and compliant manner. Offering real-time expert support to the Renewables Control Centre and Field Operations Functions, you will ensure timely resolutions and optimal commercial operations, bringing your technological expertise to the asset integration phases (project handover) of construction projects, which minimises post-takeover operational non-conformances. Defining all new technology cost elements on an annual basis, you will also support the management of O&M OPEX and CAPEX budgets. What you’ll bring Educated to Degree level in an Electrical discipline with experience of operations within a utility/ generation environment (preferably on BESS/Solar PV assets), you will hold Chartership within a relevant engineering institute. With practical experience in the operational management of BESS and/or Solar PV plants, you will be familiar in asset management of high value industrial HV and LV systems, including resource planning and maintenance project delivery. Flexibility is needed to work across multiple and varied locations, both within the UK and Internationally, with an approach to working hours and availability out-with normal working hours which may require you to address and/or attend business critical activities and emergencies. A full UK driving licence is required. Experienced with a strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental principles and their application in the management of large scale industrial assets, you will possess a high level of IT literacy with good knowledge of MS Office systems.
