Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and organised administrator to join our specialist treatment planning team here at The Christie. The post holder will play an active role in the organisation of a busy radiotherapy planning department, supporting the clinical team to provide a high standard of care. The successful applicant will be hard-working with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills to provide support to this technical service.
Main duties of the job
Working in a small administration team and at times autonomously, applicants will be expected to manage their own workload, working flexibly to meet the demands on the department. The successful candidate will be asked to work 10am - 6pm, to provide admin and operational support throughout the working day.
The postholder will be an organised self-starter providing clerical and administrative support to manage patient workflow within a busy office environment, sometimes in high pressure situations. Whilst the role is not patient facing, you will be required to communicate changes in the treatment plan to patients over the telephone as well as communicating to stakeholders across the radiotherapy network.
The individual will need developed computer skills to use the relevant software used within the department, including Mosaiq, Adobe, Excel as well as other Microsoft packages.
The team will support the practitioner team in the preparation of treatment plans, by transferring scans into dedicated planning software. This requires attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
