The candidate must be already practicing at Band 7 ANP level with a master's level qualification, in line with the National Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
Main duties of the job
The role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner has proved pivotal in providing our patients with the safe environment they have come to expect from a world leader. Our ANPs work in two key roles within the trust; in our ALERT team and our Surgical Ward Based ANP team. The ALERT team role is responsible for the management of deteriorating patients across the trust. This role helps to avert inappropriate or avoidable admissions to critical care.
The Ward Based ANP provides much needed continuity and experience in managing the elective and non-elective cardiothoracic surgical patient from admission to discharge. The ANPs facilitate daily ward rounds and ensure daily plans are followed to ensure timely discharge for our patients and are pivotal in running the In-house urgent service. Both teams also provide the much-needed advanced clinical experience and education to support our nursing and medical colleagues and contribute to other relevant Trust audit and research projects.
