As part of the Ranger team, you’ll need to think about our impact on the environment and how you can help. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 863 hours over the duration of the contract. We’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2025. Accommodation is provided to the postholder for the proper or better performance of their duties in accordance with Trust criteria and HMRC rules. The accommodation is 3 miles away from Blakeney Point, so a full UK driving license is required to do this role. What it's like to work here You'll be based on Blakeney Point with accommodation provided in the remote and iconic, blue Lifeboat House. You’ll be part of a team living on site, made up of 2 seasonal Assistant Rangers and an Area Ranger. The wider Countryside team, based on the mainland, is spread along the coast from Brancaster to the Norfolk Broads. What you'll be doing As an Assistant Ranger, you’ll be supporting the success of beach nesting birds across a site that is important locally, nationally and internationally. The role includes survey and monitoring work, predator control, site inspections, routine practical maintenance, supporting volunteers, interacting with visitors and helping to deliver activities that strengthen people’s connections with the outdoors. As no two days are the same, the nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial to ensure the right level of support is given across the site.
