We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent secretarial, administrative and organisational skills to join the Members Services Section based within the Democratic Services Section of the Business Operations and Partnerships Department.
Reporting to the Senior Democratic Services Officer and working as part of a small team of two, you will be providing dedicated support for the Leader of the Council specifically and other Elected Members in general. This will include providing a typing service; diary management; arranging meetings for Elected Members; liaising with officers and external agencies; dealing with enquiries from the public; records management; and oversight and control of the Council’s stock of civic gifts.
You will also have a lead role in organising a variety of civic functions and civic events such as for Holocaust Memorial Day and Remembrance, in respect of which occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
As well as having Standard Grade or equivalent in English and being competent in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software, you will be someone with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is a good team player and also able to work flexibly and using your own initiative.
You will provide support and cover as and when required for the other officer in the Section who supports the Provost and the Clerk to the Renfrewshire Lieutenancy.
