Band 7 Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our Vascular Studies service at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The service is principally based at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, which is the acute hub of the North Central London Vascular Network, however also works across other local sites such as Barnet Hospital, Hadley Wood Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital and The Whittington Hospital. The successful candidate would be part of a team of ten qualified vascular scientists, two STPs, an associate practitioner, and two administrators.
Main duties of the job
In addition to the core mix of Doppler ultrasound activity found in most departments, the service sees interesting cohorts of patients including those with problematic vascular access for haemodialysis, complex aortic aneurysms, vascular malformations, renovascular disease and complex venous disease. There is also opportunity to work within our specialist microvascular service undertaking cold challenge thermography and nailfold capillaroscopy. We work closely with twelve Consultant Vascular Surgeons from across the network, two Clinical Nurse Specialists, our neurovascular and diabetic foot MDTs, a large team of research fellows, junior doctors and our pathway navigation team.
Job responsibilities
In addition to the main patient facing clinical duties outlined above, staff are given dedicated time in order to be able to conduct valuable work within research & audit, education, quality improvement, and leadership in line with both personal development and service needs.
