Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our above offices.

The Chief Controls Office’s role is to support BCB to grow at pace by focusing on good customer outcomes and automating the control environment.
Reporting into the Head of Controls Optimisation, you'll be part of the Controls Optimisation Team, which has responsibility for optimising and automating controls and providing data-led reporting and insights.
What you’ll be doing:
* Develop, deploy and lead a User Access Management team for BCB, ensuring robust processes and controls, to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
* Understand the risk and controls associated with IT Systems Risk across BCB, with a view to optimising controls, aggregating performance with data-led control monitoring. Lead actions on events and breaches and co-ordinate remediation plans to address priority actions or Audit findings.
* Coordinate application management activity, working closely with application owners to ensure robust risk remediation strategies are implemented.
* Working collaboratively to optimise and automate controls, you'll find opportunities to improve methods and control tooling solutions to support optimisation and automation.
* Support the development and implementation of the BCB control strategy to ensure there is a clear understanding of both the design and operating effectiveness across e2e business processes, using standardised tooling to maintain process maps and architecture.
* Lead, supervise and test the efficiency of designed controls to deliver regulatory and operational risk objectives and provide fair outcomes for customers.
* Lead and manage timely reporting on the efficiency and performance of controls and compliance through maintaining effective data quality. Leverage insight on controls to identify issues and deliver remedial actions as appropriate.

What you’ll need:
* Regulatory & Product Knowledge & Business Insight – You have expertise in Operational and Security Risk Management, and Operational Resilience, with an understanding of the relevant Regulations. You design controls to provide compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including implementing data-led monitoring and surveillance to prevent material customer harm.
* Control Management Leadership – You're experienced with data-led control management and the practical implementation across relevant business area with a record of leading control by design, automation, optimisation, testing and monitoring activities. Confirmed experience of implementing a control strategy.
* Strategic Decision Making – You make good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward. Balancing difficult trade-offs with the ability to understand and assimilate different sources of data and complex information to tackle problems and make relevant conclusions and recommendations, with consideration to the cost of control. Experience of engaging with leaders to understand long-term strategic opportunities and challenges to help support the prioritisation.
* Influencing – validated experience of building partnerships and work collaboratively with others, including Risk Owner, Control Owner and Risk Specialist to meet shared objectives. You can work effectively with all other lines of defence and drive collaboration with teams to embed technical control capability including implementation and embedding of control by design and automation.
