Job Vacancy This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a team delivering business support to services across the Council. Based in Fairfield House as part of the Operational Support Team within Corporate Resources the jobholder will provide day to day management of the team and be responsible for the completion, development and transformation of business processes to services in Health & Social Care and Education. You will provide advice and guidance to the team, plan & prioritise workloads and review resource implications of service demands. You will lead/participate in the delivery of transformational programmes where required and work to continuously improve service standards This role offers hybrid working, i.e. working from home and in the office as and when required. KNOWLEDGE Educational: Essential : Jobholders must be educated to SVQ level 4 in a relevant subject such as HND Business Management, Administration, or evidence of equivalent competency. Experience: Essential : A professional knowledge of administration and operational methodology and procedures is essential. To be competent in the role the Jobholder must have good interpersonal skills and develop and maintain an understanding of all aspects of the Midlothian Council Operational Support processes. The Jobholder is expected to have extensive experience in working in a similar job role, i.e. managing support to a number of areas within an organisation. It is essential that the jobholder has experience of leading, developing and managing a team. S/he must have the ability to manage complex workloads and demonstrate an ability to plan, organise and prioritise. Experience of leading or participating in project/working groups to support improvement of process changes or working practices S/he must also have knowledge and demonstrable experience of using financial systems and Microsoft Office packages. Desirable: A knowledge and understanding of the local government services provided by the Council. Experience of working with colleagues/stakeholders across multiple services/functions in an organisation Experience of the delivery of presentations, briefings or training.
