Our client is a global tech business looking for a Financial Accountant to join their UK&I business unit (circa £100m revenue) based in Staines, hybrid (3 days in office). The role will report to the Accounting Director and will sit within their core accounting team. The Financial Accountant will provide accurate and timely recording, classification and reporting of accounting transactions. There will be an emphasis on reconciliations, SOX controls, reporting results and recording of routine and non-routine transactions. This will be the perfect role for someone studying towards their accounting qualification who is looking to boost their technical skills and develop in a hands-on role. Responsibilities: - Take a key role in financial accounting for Business area and other UK managed entities and all activities related to the month end close and promotion. - Responsible for regulatory compliances, VAT returns, preparation of SOX controls and liaison with tax authorities for Business area and assist Accounting manager on other UK managed entities. - Responsible for the Cash, bank, loans, Fixed assets and Intercompany & netting reconciliations across all UK Managed entities - Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations to a high level with strong support and reasoning for auditors and for internal requirements - Prepare and submit audit information to a professional standard for Business area and other UK Managed entities. Work with Accounting Director and Deputy Accounting Director on the statutory audits. - Prepare UK GAAP trial balance and reconcile financial statements for Business area and assist on accounts preparation for other UK managed entities where required. - Play a key role in ensuring the Financial accounting for UK managed entities complies with relevant accounting standards. - Build close working relationships with the rest of the UK Finance team and other key stakeholders including auditors and other external advisors. - Strive for continuous process improvements. Profile: - Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) - ERP Oracle and Hyperion Planning experience preferred - Experience with UK GAAP accounting (IFRS will also be considered) - Able to obtain unbiased information by effectively questioning and probing - Uses sound rationale for problem identification and decision making - Goes beyond the initial findings and takes steps to check multiple data sources and interpret various types of data - Consistently determines an accurate sequence of activities to achieve goals - Proactively looks for root causes and not just symptoms of problems - Appropriately uses metrics and understands the information's impact on decisions Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 study support benefits
