I am currently recruiting for an electrical maintenance engineer for a temporary to permanent role in Ilford working 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
A full UK driver's licence is required as the role is covering 2 locations in the Ilford area. A vehicle and fuel card are provided, although the majority of time will be spent at a primary location in Ilford.
The successful electrical maintenance engineer will need to be client-facing and responsible for all electrical maintenance while also being open to assisting with mechanical and fabric maintenance when required.
On site, there is a service manager and 2 other building services engineers currently in post.
There is a 1 in 4 call out rota, with a minimum of 2 hours paid per call out at overtime rate and a weekly bonus when on call.
Duties will include:
1. Carrying out scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance tasks in maintaining site assets ensuring equipment availability.
2. Ensuring that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
3. Responding to Building Management System alarms and effecting emergency repairs as needed.
4. Issuing and ensuring appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
5. Ensuring that Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
6. Ensuring that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
7. Ensuring that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of task sheets - hard copy or electronically as required.
8. Ensuring that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and adhered to for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices.
9. Ensuring that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
To be suitable for this contract you must meet the below criteria:
1. Have a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a commercial environment.
2. Have 18th edition.
3. Be qualified to electrical City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent.
4. Have a good understanding of SFG20.
5. Supervise subcontractors.
6. Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references from work completed in the past 5 years.
7. Have your own safety boots and basic hand tools.
8. Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable.
