We are currently looking for a dedicated Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant team at a Primary School in the Neath Port Talbot area. This role requires an individual who is passionate about supporting young learners and enhancing their educational experience.
Your primary responsibility will be to support teachers in delivering lessons, particularly to Welsh-speaking pupils in both English and Welsh. The school is committed to promoting the Welsh language and culture, and your contribution will be vital in helping students achieve their language development goals.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Supporting pupils in both Welsh and English during lessons
* Supporting small groups and individual pupils in their learning
* Encouraging and promoting the use of the Welsh language in the classroom
* Working closely with the class teacher to create engaging lesson materials
* Tracking and reporting on pupil progress
Requirements
* The successful candidate will possess a strong command of the Welsh language, both spoken and written, and have experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally within a Primary School.
* A relevant qualification in education or childcare would be advantageous.
* You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
* A valid Enhanced DBS check is required for this role or the willingness to obtain one.
* A current Safeguarding certificate or the willingness to obtain one.
