Contractual hours: 37 hours per week
Basis: Full time, Term time only 38 weeks

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Student Support Mentor to join our Health and Care department. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in providing study support and targeted intervention for learners with a variety of needs within the directorate.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Student Support Mentor in Health and Care you will:
* Work closely with the Curriculum area and have an input into identifying student needs, planning and implementing strategies, coaching and intervention to support student engagement, wellbeing and achievement.
* Plan and deliver a range of targeted interventions, utilising vocationally specific specialist knowledge from teaching staff where appropriate.
* Prioritise the High Needs students if and when required.
* Attend regular specific training & CPD delivered by the ALS Department in relation to the role.
* Contribute and work alongside other staff within the department to ensure that the attendance, retention and achievement of the students with Additional Support Needs are monitored timely and accurately.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who have:
* An appropriate Level 2 qualification or equivalent, in supporting students with learning difficulties/care or the commitment to complete within an agreed timescale.
* A grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
* A Risk Assessment Qualification – Desirable.
