About the Company:
We are currently looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a growing high performance vehicle engineering customer of ours in Silverstone. The company are engaged in a number of exciting and motorsport/track-based vehicle projects – working with some of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers. About the Role:
Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust quality processes for key materials used in our customer’s products.
Responsibilities:
* Define, create, and manage a strategy for meeting the programmes quality requirement
* Ensuring customers’ requirements are being met through establishing robust internal processes and providing engineering feedback where required
* Managing and continuously improving an agile quality management system and team
* Supporting FMEA activities
* Provide guidance to the inspection team and ensuring quality best practices are being followed
* Creating close working relationships with suppliers to ensure the development of safety critical parts are robustly manufactured
* Auditing suppliers for approval or performance assessment of new and existing suppliers
* Developing strategies to ensure visual carbon composites are in line with the customer requirements whilst having a right-first-time mentality
* Utilising 8D principles as a basis for effective problem resolution and able to facilitate the resolution of complex, cross functional issues
* Actively working with suppliers to collaboratively develop product specifications to align with process capability
Qualifications:
At least 2 years working in a Supplier Quality Engineer capacity. Ability to travel independently to visit UK based customers twice/week. A background working in the automotive, motorsport and/or aerospace industries. Ability to interpret engineering drawing requirements (GD&T). Solid understanding of ISO9001 requirements. Proven experience in face-to-face customer interactions.
