What you will do:
1. Conduct highly complex swallowing and communication assessments with individuals with learning disabilities, focusing on diagnosing speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
2. Provide clear and effective treatment plans to manage dysphagia and related difficulties, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
3. Document clinical assessments and progress notes accurately, maintaining compliance with professional standards.
4. Engage actively in team meetings and contribute to case discussions, sharing insights and expertise.
5. Educate and support families and carers, offering guidance on communication and swallowing difficulties.
6. Stay updated with the latest practices and research in dysphagia management, integrating findings into your work.
Requirements:
1. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is essential.
2. At least 2 years of experience working in speech and language therapy, specialising in dysphagia, is required.
3. Being a car driver is preferable to enable travel between various sites easily.
