We are looking for a qualified nursery practitioner to join our Nursery team at Mini Munchkins Day Nursery in Corfe Mullen. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly, close-knit team providing high standards of childcare.

Our opening hours are between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, Term time only.
The job will be for 9 hours per week with the potential to increase and do bank staff to cover staff when needed. You must be flexible and willing to help out with covering sickness.
Our nursery staff care for children aged 18 months to 5 years, planning and carrying out activities in line with the Early Years’ curriculum. They are also responsible for evaluating the activities and maintaining learning journals for key children.
What We’re Looking For
You need to be confident and flexible and have a passion for working in an Early Years setting. You also need to be great at liaising with parents/carers, and we’re particularly looking for proactive people with brilliant ideas to help us continuously improve our services.
Experience Required: NVQ level 2 or above/equivalent
Purpose of the Job: To work as a key-worker and as part of the Nursery team under the direction of the Nursery Manager to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children. We ask that the applicant has an understanding of the Early Years Curriculum, although this is not essential, and safeguarding, with previous Early Years’ experience and must hold a level 2 childcare qualification or above.
Responsibilities and Duties
The main responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following:
1. To be an effective nursery assistant, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation to children in the nursery.
2. To input and assist with the planning of the curriculum.
3. To help to set up the nursery for the day and ensure that it is safe, clean, and tidy at the start and end of each session.
4. To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
5. To advise the Nursery Manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents, or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
6. To promote positive behaviour from children and to assist in establishing good standards of behaviour throughout the nursery.
7. To set a good example in terms of punctuality, attendance, behaviour, and dress, and to support the development of the nursery’s reputation and standing.
8. To contribute to appropriate educational provision for children with SEN and those learning EAL with support from the SENCO.
9. To teach within the framework of present nursery policies, paying particular attention to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Inclusion, and Special Educational Needs.
10. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families, or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
11. To comply with the nursery’s policies and procedures with specific regard to Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
12. To input and attend staff meetings.
13. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
14. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager, in accordance with the nursery's business plan/objectives.
