What you'll do
* Responsible for business relationships with suppliers. This includes mapping and engaging interactions with management, technical, marketing, and supply teams.
* Accountable for P&L of selected product/s within market segments.
* Assist in the implementation, and execution, of the procurement, supply, sales, marketing, financial and logistical strategy.
* Support and own the negotiation of pricing and buying plans.
* Works closely with procurement, finance, and accounts payable to resolve supplier issues and remove supply chain issues.
* Works closely with marketing on campaigns, push products, and supplier engagement.
* Provides regular market updates to the field sales organization on assigned products, and coordinates training with suppliers for both technical and commercial.
* Prepares and submits reports as advised.
* Provides mentorship to Field Sales Organization, and others, on day-to-day issues, i.e. pricing, service, procurement, and supply.
* Facilitate business growth and communications relevant to the assigned market.
What you'll need
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred)
* Successful experience (5 years minimum) in sales and/or product management.
* Food Ingredients (raw chemicals) industry experience is preferred.
* Analytical proven skills are needed to develop strategic data-driven decisions.
* Ability to develop and grow strong relationships with key suppliers and cross-functional partners (Marketing, Procurement, Finance, etc.).
* High level of decision-making ability balancing supplier needs and company objectives.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse and significant workloads.
* Strong written, verbal and presentation abilities.
* Proven financial leadership skills.
* Broad knowledge of chemical distribution business and functions.
* Home-based, but some travel for supplier meetings, customer visits trade shows, and training.
