Are you looking to take the next big step in your care career? Are you passionate about supporting others and ready to develop your leadership skills? Specialist Care Team is excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker in our home care service. This role is perfect for Support Workers/Carers looking to progress into more senior roles and is a stepping stone to management-oriented roles like Team Leader or Deputy Manager.
Why Work With Us?
At Specialist Care Team, we believe in fostering growth – not just for our service users, but for our team members too. We are committed to your development and will support you as you take the next step in your career. Whether it’s through extra training, mentorship, or hands-on experience, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
What’s the Role?
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be working directly with service users as part of our hands-on care team. You will lead by example, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered to people with learning disabilities, Autism, mental health needs, and more. While the role involves leadership, it is not office-based or purely managerial – you will be actively involved in day-to-day care and support activities. You’ll also have the chance to assist in training new support workers and provide ongoing mentorship, helping them grow and develop in their roles. You’ll also get the chance to make a real difference by ensuring service users live their lives to the fullest.
What Will You Do?
* Hands-on care: Provide direct support to service users, ensuring that their daily needs are met, and their well-being is prioritised.
* Leadership: Assist in training new support workers and act as a mentor to provide ongoing guidance and support to the care team.
* Quality assurance: Monitor and review care plans, ensuring they reflect the needs of the clients. Report any changes or issues to ensure that the service continues to provide the highest level of care.
* Care planning and support: Create and maintain individual care plans for some service users, working alongside staff and service users to ensure the plans are up to date and relevant.
* On-call responsibilities: Participate in a shared on-call rota, providing support to staff and helping manage any unplanned absences.
* Promote and protect the welfare of the individuals you support.
What Do You Need?
* A passion for care and great communication skills (written and verbal).
* Leadership qualities and the desire to grow and develop into a management role.
* Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (we’ll provide training opportunities!).
* A commitment to our core values: ambition, compassion, innovation, reliability, and inclusivity.
What’s In It For You?
* Career development opportunities with mentoring and training to help you progress.
* A chance to lead and inspire a team while making a direct impact on people’s lives.
* A supportive, values-driven work environment where your growth matters to us as much as the care you provide.
