We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a public sector organisation in Glasgow. In this pivotal role, you will manage all aspects of the finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, and overseeing the financial performance of subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support senior leadership in developing long- and short-term business plans, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and financial agreements.
2. Lead the finance team, providing day-to-day management, guidance, and financial control.
3. Ensure subsidiaries meet financial commitments and provide regular performance reports.
4. Oversee the preparation of annual accounts, management reports, and cashflow forecasts.
5. Support the board with financial decision-making and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Essential Criteria:
1. Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, or CIPFA).
2. Significant senior-level experience in both public and private sector financial management.
3. Strong understanding of financial governance, lease accounting, and reporting.
4. Experience working with senior leaders and Boards, especially in public sector contexts.
