The Role
We are looking for an engaging and forward-thinking Safety & Environmental Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you’ll lead by example, inspire teams, and turn ideas into impactful actions. You’ll set the standard for safety, health, and environmental practices across our multi-site operations.
The role is not just about compliance — it’s about creating a safety culture that our people truly believe in, steering high-performing teams to success, and finding innovative solutions to reduce risks and improve sustainability.
You will play a vital role in shaping and delivering our SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) strategy, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while championing a proactive Culture of CARE across the organisation.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just tick boxes but actively leads from the front—someone who sees challenges as opportunities to raise the bar and leaves a lasting legacy of improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engage and Lead: Build strong relationships across teams, from the shop floor to senior leadership, ensuring safety and environmental practices become second nature at every level.
2. Strategic Leadership: Work with the Supply Chain Leadership Team (SCLT) to develop and execute clear and actionable SHE plans aligned with global, regional, and Opco priorities.
3. Innovative Solutions: Identify and implement creative and effective SHE initiatives that address risks, reduce incidents, and promote sustainability.
4. Drive Performance: Lead and coordinate high-performing teams, ensuring the delivery of measurable improvements in SHE performance across the Supply Chain.
5. Governance & Compliance: Develop and maintain a robust governance framework to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company standards.
6. Incident Management: Lead investigations into medium-to-high severity incidents, ensuring lessons learned are embedded and improvements are implemented.
7. Capability Development: Build and strengthen SHE expertise across the organisation through coaching, training, and succession planning for Safety Managers.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to the SCLT, providing insights, trend analyses, and recommendations to achieve SHE goals.
