Our client, based in Sheffield, requires a gas engineer to perform maintenance work on a temporary basis. Rates will be £20.82 per hour PAYE premium (£18.58 Basic) or £24.41 per hour Umbrella.
Your new role
Your new role will be working as a Senior Gas Officer within the Sheffield area, working for a commercial organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversee and support the day-to-day work of Investment Assistants & Business Support staff.
2. Assist with the training of staff.
3. Responsible for effective consultation and communication, both formally and informally, with tenants, contractors, elected members, and colleagues. This may also include liaising with emergency services, HSE, and the Environmental Agency and other external stakeholders.
4. Attendance, reporting to, and active participation at local project groups, working groups, and progress meetings.
5. Undertake the first stage reviews, appeals, implementation of the complaints procedure, including replies to elected members and other bodies, as associated with service delivery.
6. Undertake the role of active client and delivery of contract administration within a partnership environment, including scheme preparation and contract administration duties such as testing and defect inspections, property handovers, and quality assurance processes as defined by Sheffield City Council.
7. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and practical application of all areas of Construction health and safety, Construction, Design and Management Regulations, asbestos management/awareness, building regulations, and working practices.
8. Undertake inspections and surveys, prepare, produce and present technical and non-technical reports and designs including recommendations and remedial actions.
9. Effective operation of IT systems and contribute towards their improvement.
10. The above responsibilities may require attendance at meetings outside normal office hours.
11. Work closely with Neighbourhood Management Teams to ensure that local intelligence effectively informs programmes of work.
12. Liaise as required with other teams within the Housing and Neighbourhoods Service to ensure a joined-up approach to asset management within our neighbourhoods.
The role is to start ASAP and is for 3-4 Months Temp, after which you can apply to go permanent with them.
The rate is £20.82 PAYE - £24.41 UMB.

What you'll get in return
You will be provided with a van and fuel to use during work hours, as well as power tools. You must be able to collect/return from the city centre depot, where uniform will also be provided. Weekly pay.
