A vacancy exists in our excellent team for an enthusiastic, committed SEND Teaching Assistant to provide support in a key stage 2 setting. The post will primarily involve directed individual support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to a pupil(s) both in the classroom and during individual or small-group interventions.
2. Assist the class teacher and SENCo in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
3. Develop and implement strategies to engage and motivate pupils.
4. Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development.
5. Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
6. Assist the class teacher with keeping pupil SEND records up to date.
7. Communicate with parents and carers.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience of working with children with ASD.
2. ASD training or qualifications desirable or willingness to train.
3. Previous experience in an SEND or classroom support role is desirable.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
5. A strong understanding of safeguarding and the ability to follow policies effectively.
6. Familiarity with SEN strategies and interventions is an advantage.
7. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
