Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accounts Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised individual to join us at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust to work within our Management Accounts Department.
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or equivalent, possess good communication skills, as well as being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
This post is full time, 37.5 hours per week, based in Poole with a mix of office and home working. Flexible working patterns always considered.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide timely, accurate and relevant financial advice, support and information to budget managers, and other Management Accounts staff to service the needs of Operational Directors, the Chief Finance Officer and the Chief Exec.
2. Working within the Management Accounts team to provide robust monthly management accounting and reporting processes.
3. To ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place, and maintained, to deliver the financial duties and objectives of the Trust.

Knowledge, Skills and Training
Essential criteria
* Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification/NVQ Level 4 or proven demonstrable equivalent experience
Job Specific Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in a financial environment and detailed understanding of accounting procedures
* Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to people at all levels within the organisation.
Information Technology
Essential criteria
* Proficient in the use of all Microsoft software, with advanced skills in Excel

* Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines whilst producing accurate results
