We are looking for an experienced Venue Events Manager that is looking for their next challenge. The Venue Event Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of event planning and execution at the venue, ensuring the smooth operation of events, bar service, and food & beverage offerings. This role involves working closely with clients, venue teams, and staff to deliver exceptional experiences for guests while
maintaining high standards of service, safety, and efficiency.
You will need to have great communication skills, restaurant and bar operational experience, and a passion for events. This is a details orientated role that requires a big personally to drive the team.
Riverside East
Based in the heart of the iconic Olympic Park, Riverside East is multi functioning F&B space, comprising of the large outside courtyard area which hosts a range of events from West Ham fan zones to Sunday markets all year round with innovation and a wide range of entertainment.
The space inside features a 2 story café / restaurant space with the ground floor serving an all-day menu throughout the week and our highly popular Sunday Roasts! We see varied passing trade from dog walkers, runners and students with grab-and-go options and a small but inspiring seated weekend brunch menu. Upstairs features a stunning internal space with a large roof Terrace overlooking the area, this space is exceptional for large events and has recently been busy with Christmas parties, large sit down banqueting lunches and even more to come!
Being both a food and drink led venue with programmed entertainment across both indoor and outdoor spaces, this is a great spot for families, students and sports fans, whilst also being a place for the community and a destination for foodies and coffee lovers. It features a large screen where live sport can be watched and host fans before attending events at the Olympic Stadium, West Ham stadium, ABBA arena and other local attractions.
The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised and driven individual to take on event enquiries and ensure the smooth operations of all internal events. You will work collaboratively with the General Manager to deliver excellent standards in all aspects of service across multiple areas of the venue. This role will also entail back of house elements such as profit/loss understanding, understanding costings for enquiries, guest relations and people management.
Core Accountabilities
Service
• Ensure high standards of service are developed and maintained throughout the venue.
• Liaising with the General Manager to ensure food, beverage standards are met at all times.
• Be fully present on the floor during hours of service and events.
• Train and supervise bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to safety regulations.
• Develop drink menus in collaboration with clients, ensuring a tailored experience for each event.
• Extensive knowledge of bar & restaurant operations.
Costings and Finance
• Stock analysis
• Sense check for stock and consumables ordering
• Liaise with the management team to ensure staffing levels are correct for events
• Ensure the event enquiries rate card is up to date
• Assist in preparing event budgets and ensuring that events are delivered within budgetary constraints.
• Provide reports on event costs, revenue, and financial performance
Staffing
• Ensure staffing levels are always at the correct levels and to budget, and people are recruited into the right roles
• Committed to delivering the Venue’s socio-economic plans of hiring within the local area and nurturing talent to create careers for local people

Knowledge/Experience
ESSENTIAL
• Minimum 2 years Managerial experience in a similar environment (festival/stadium/venue)
• Budget management experience
• Comfortable with excel
• Extensive knowledge of restaurant/bar operations
• Staff and rota management
• Sound understanding of EPOS systems
• Stock management experience
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
