Supply Chain Assistant Working Hours: 37.Location: Dundee, UK (hybrid permitted, 3+ days in the Dundee office required each week)

The Supply Chain Assistant will provide support to the Supply Chain team and be responsible for booking all import and export vendor and customer shipments, including processing customs clearance instructions as required. Other tasks include providing purchasing support through placing vendors orders, monitoring the live vendor order book and other routine supply chain team tasks.
Organise and oversee the shipment of our order consignments to domestic and international locations.
Obtain shipping quotations and advise the team of timelines and cost estimates.
Manage and maintain key freight forwarder accounts, continuously monitoring overall service levels and pricing of quotes received. Timely and accurate completion of shipping documentation i.e. commercial invoices, packing lists and EUR1 forms, letters of carnet and ensuring they are sent to the relevant persons.
Advise freight forwarders on CPC codes, tariff codes and determining temporary or permanent import, returned goods relief requirements, and providing previous documentation needed for processing.
Resolve issues brought up by new customs regulations worldwide, making necessary updates to future shipments.
Ensure customs compliance is adhered to on shipping documentation with accurate information to allow smooth transit.
Manage urgent requirements for equipment and reprioritise volume of requests across the business.
Continually update shipping history log to enable wider team to self-serve with estimated freight costs.
Coordinate the return of assets out on trials, following up with site contacts as required.
Monitor activity levels to allow logistics function to meet trading demands of the business.
Provide support to the supply Chain team for purchasing, through management of the live vendor order book.
Provide support to the management of data kept in the company ERP in Dynamics 365 Business central.
Provide support to the warehouse function as required.
Provide support on the administration and management of the live transactions in the ERP as required.
File and log all the relevant import and export documents via the ERP or company systems as required.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Supply Chain department and wider business.
Minimum 2 years in an import/export environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and data management software.
