Overview of role
Location: Walthamstow
Reporting to the Transport Front Line Manager, you would be responsible for managing and monitoring safety, performance and compliance tasks within the department. Supporting the safe delivery and/or collection of all goods to/from our customers and in accordance with all legal and company requirements. Class 1 licence essential
Key Accountabilities
The primary responsibilities for the role holder will be to:
1. To input and monitor all hazard reporting with trending feedback to FLM’s in Transport
2. To ensure timely and accurate handling of all service-related issues and concerns and that they are escalated and communicated
3. To support all Working Time Directive inputs, infringement reporting & compliance reporting
4. To be a lead contact on site with the FTA and to be the custodian of the transport audit
5. Ensure agency driver management is first class with timesheet collation and payroll systems
6. Support the Transport department’s schedule adherence KPI by making best use of the company scheduling systems
7. Ensure that any service issues (Issue Management Logs) arising are addressed promptly and escalated
8. Support FLM’s with the delivery of the ‘Safety First’ message
9. Build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross functional working
10. Provide management cover for the FLM in their absence.

11. Class 1 licence essential
12. Ability to build good working relationships, with employees, customers and suppliers
13. Good supervisory skills, with a confident, open and honest style of communicating
14. The energy and determination to set the standards and drive quality
15. A strong customer focus, always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a good service
16. Able to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
17. General demonstrable understanding of transport legal compliance
18. Previous supervisory experience desirable
19. Previous experience in transport/logistics operations
20. PC literate, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using transport scheduling packages
21. Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
