Our client are specialist suppliers of gases and other ancillary products to a variety of sectors including Automotive, HVAC, and Industrial. We are looking for an experienced Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to join their team.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and implementing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) initiatives across the company. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, drive continuous improvement in SHEQ performance, and uphold the company’s reputation for excellence and responsibility.

The Role:
* Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and standards in line with regulatory requirements.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ considerations into their business processes.
* Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and lead the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
* Serve as a primary point of contact for SHEQ-related inquiries from all stakeholders within the company.
* Arrange Health and Safety courses, inductions, and meetings, producing materials and agendas as required.
* Facilitate the reporting and investigation of all Health and Safety incidents, ensuring that root cause identification and recommendations are delivered to prevent recurrence and improve controls.
* Coach and mentor managers to improve their investigation skills and ensure that lessons learned are shared across sections/departments.
* Provide statistical summaries of incidents to management and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.
* Facilitate the completion of risk assessments.
Our Ideal Candidate:
* Demonstrable understanding of SHEQ legislation with experience within the manufacturing sector.
* Experience in successfully dealing with external regulatory bodies.
* Hold NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
* Ability to write RAMs, SSOW, and SOP.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001), and strong leadership skills.
* Experience of Accident/Incident Investigation.
* Flexible and committed to achieving team/site objectives.
* Effective time management skills with the ability to work to targets and timescales.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Commitment to self-development and team development.
* Good Excel and data analysis skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
