About us We create beautiful keepsake maps showing the exact route of people’s cruise holidays. We’ve built a system that uses AIS tracking data from the ships themselves to create something truly unique in the cruise industry. We sell these print maps directly to cruise passengers via our highly customised Shopify store ( www.thecruisemaps.com ) and order API, which integrate with our proprietary map generation and fulfilment software. We’re seeing exceptional growth (7.5x revenue growth YoY), largely due to partnerships that we’ve launched with some of the biggest brands in the industry like Cunard, Fred Olsen and P&O. Founded in 2023 by repeat founders with significant domain expertise, we have huge goals. We want to get our maps in the hands of as many of the 36 million annual cruise passengers as possible, all whilst launching an array of exciting new products and services for this audience. Your role We are looking for an ambitious and experienced developer to lead the build and maintenance of our e-commerce and CRO roadmap, and to maintain and streamline the integration with our map generation and order fulfilment systems. This role will involve hands-on Shopify and API development, CRO strategy and analysis, and technical product and project management. We need a proactive self-starter who can demonstrate experience with running and growing a complex e-commerce technology platform, whilst being actively involved with integrating this into wider business systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a small, high-paced business. Whilst the role is primarily technical, we are looking for someone with a deep understanding of e-commerce and CRO strategy who wants to drive the business through this rapid growth phase. This is a high autonomy role, with genuine potential for rapid progression in the business for the right candidate. Responsibilities: Ownership of the Shopify store and e-commerce platform. - This is the core responsibility of this role. You will drive the development of our online presence to make our store a 10 star experience for customers. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving our product, order and app integrations within the Shopify platform. Manage the integration of our e-commerce platform with other business systems. - You will ensure that orders are seamlessly passed through our map making and order fulfilment systems, building out new API and app integrations alongside our business roadmap. E-commerce and CRO strategy - our data shows there is a huge opportunity to significantly improve sales through e-commerce strategy alone. You will stay up to date with the latest technology and developments, and proactively implement your ideas to increase store AOV and conversion rate. Product and Project management - You will use our planning tools to own and co-ordinate the overall e-commerce project roadmap for the business. Reporting - You will assist the product and sales team with accurate reporting of store, product and partnership performance. Requirements You must: Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a software engineer Demonstrate a proven track record of Shopify development, including custom theme development and app integration Have at least 2 years experience of non-Shopify web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React JS) and modern development practices including version control. Have experience with GraphQL API development and integration Be able to demonstrate a track record of implementing and analysing successful CRO strategies Have experience with e-commerce analytics tools and data-driven decision making Have agile project management skills and experience coordinating technical builds and launches Be a proactive problem-solver, showing attention to detail Have strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small fast-moving team. Be eligible to work in the UK (we are not able to sponsor a visa), and able to come to the central London office 3-4 days per month.
