Role Purpose
To support the Finance Manager in the production of the internal and external management and financial accounts and assist in production of other management information as required to agreed timescales.
To input primary accounting transactions.
Maintain existing financial control measures, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
To assist in any other finance related projects as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management information
o Understand and process tasks required to produce monthly management accounts, key business reports and provide variance analysis to support the Head of Finance and the Management Team.
o Help in the production of management information for the Group and Leadership Team as required.
o Support and business partner with key departments in the business with guidance from the Finance Manager and Head of Finance.
2. Financial accounting and reporting
o Assist in the preparation of the internal monthly financial statements - profit and loss, balance sheet and other reports for Weleda UK.
o Support the Financial Manager in production of the Group financial information in line with Group requirements.
o Collating the requested information to prepare the statutory accounts.
o Processing of journals and financial transactions including accruals and prepayments.
o Ownership and reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts.
o Ownership of the fixed asset register and process depreciation calculations.
o Assist in the preparation of taxation requirements including VAT returns and other tax submissions.
3. Assisting the accounts clerk in the input of all primary accounting information
o Accurately input all the primary accounting data in a timely manner according to the SOPs and controls.
o To file all the accounting documents in a suitable way for them to be used for audit and checking.
o Support with queries on both the sales and purchase ledgers to ensure accurate cash flows in and out of the business.
4. Finance Projects
o Providing ideas, insights and assisting in implementation into potential changes to improve efficiency, accuracy and best practice.
Person Specification
* Formal Qualifications
* Part Qualified in either CIMA/ACCA/ACA is essential.
Behavioural Skills
* Team player, works with all stakeholders to establish and meet shared goals.
* An ambition to learn and develop studied Finance skills and apply these to the corporate environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Positive, can-do attitude with pragmatic and proactive approach to get the job completed.
* Organised with a strong attention to detail.
* Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel).
